Before you shortlist

Where to compare helper biodata and agencies in Singapore

An Apex Maids helper holding cooking and housekeeping placards

You can compare helper biodata on SearchMaid and NetMaid, or request shortlists directly from licensed agencies. The platforms offer nationality, experience and language filters. Check who represents each candidate and confirm availability, written costs and the relevant hiring or transfer steps directly with that agency. Use MOM's separate EA Directory to check the agency's current licence; a directory listing is not a MOM assessment of a helper.

Written by Apex Maids, a placement agency. This guide compares public search routes; it is not an independent ranking of maid agencies. Apex's own shortlist service is one option, and another agency remains the contact for its own listings.

Three routes to find and compare helpers

Each route serves a different purpose. None of them replaces the others, and none of them is a government verification of the candidate's skills or availability.

Compare discovery routes and the checks still needed
Route Useful for What still needs checking Source
SearchMaid Searching published biodata by nationality, language and experience; identifying the representing agency for each profile Current availability; whether listed experience has been verified; the representing agency's written costs and terms searchmaid.com.sg
NetMaid Browsing nationality and skill filters and finding profiles from different agencies Current availability; profile accuracy; the representing agency's licence, costs and refund terms netmaid.com.sg
Contact a licensed agency directly Getting a shortlist against your household brief; checking current availability; receiving a written quotation and interview That the agency's MOM licence is current; that the fee breakdown, replacement and refund terms are in writing before you sign MOM EA Directory

SearchMaid and NetMaid are independent platforms. Neither is operated by MOM, and a listing on either platform is not a government endorsement or availability guarantee. Apex Maids has a public agency record on SearchMaid at searchmaid.com.sg/agency/apex-maids-agency-pte-ltd, where you can cross-check the listed licence number, phone number and website. Check the current licence in MOM's official directory separately.

Searching for Indonesian or Filipino helpers

Both SearchMaid and NetMaid let you filter by nationality. If you are looking for an Indonesian or Filipino helper specifically, you can compare profiles across platforms and then contact the representing agency for each candidate you want to discuss.

Nationality is a starting filter, not a shortcut for language fluency or care competence. Compare each candidate's individual work history, interview answers and the evidence behind the biodata fields. The biodata reading guide explains how to separate willingness, experience and assessment.

Give the same household brief to each agency

If you are comparing agencies rather than just browsing profiles, prepare one household brief and share the same information with each. This makes the comparison about the shortlist and terms, not about who had the best-looking profile photo.

  1. Write down your three priority duties, household language, care needs and target start date. Use the helper finder or private household brief to organise these.
  2. Send the same brief to the agencies you are comparing. Ask each for a shortlist, the relevant biodata and a written itemised quotation.
  3. Check that each agency's MOM licence is current on the EA Directory. MOM's guidance on what to look out for when picking an employment agency covers the checks employers should make, including registered personnel and performance indicators.
  4. Compare the shortlist fit, written costs, replacement and refund terms, and the interview arrangements each offers.

The agency comparison checklist covers seven checks beyond the licence, including the fee breakdown and replacement terms.

Checking the agency is separate from checking the person contacting you. The agency and representative verification worksheet helps you compare the current MOM record, contact details and written payment request.

Checking whether two listings represent the same candidate

If two profiles look similar, do not count them as two different candidates until you have checked. Compare the general work history and representing agency shown, then ask the named agency whether the listings refer to the same person and whether either is current. This is a precaution when making a shortlist, not a claim that a particular platform has duplicate records. Do not assume that a candidate listed by one agency can be arranged through a different agency.

For another agency's listing, contact that agency directly. Apex can discuss candidates listed under its own agency record; for profiles represented by other agencies, the representing agency handles the enquiry, costs and hiring arrangements.

What a directory listing does not tell you

After comparing: interview and written quotation

Once you have a shortlist from your preferred agency, arrange a video interview and request the full written quotation before committing. The interview checklist helps you put the same questions to each candidate. The budget comparison planner lets you compare routes side by side.

Platform information checked 19 October 2026. SearchMaid (searchmaid.com.sg) and NetMaid (netmaid.com.sg) are independent platforms not operated by Apex Maids or MOM. MOM's EA Directory (mom.gov.sg/eadirectory) is the official licence register.

A published profile is discovery. Whether she is available and who represents her are separate questions.

Questions

Comparing search options — common questions

Where can I compare helper biodata from different agencies in Singapore?

SearchMaid and NetMaid are two public platforms where agencies publish helper biodata. Each profile shows the representing agency. You can also contact agencies directly with your household brief and compare the shortlists they return. Neither platform is a government register; verify each agency's licence on the MOM EA Directory.

What is the difference between a directory platform and a placement agency?

A directory platform like SearchMaid or NetMaid helps you discover profiles from different agencies. For an agency placement, ask the named agency about its shortlist, interviews, written service agreement and applicable hiring process. A platform search does not replace those checks or the separate employment arrangements.

Can I compare Indonesian and Filipino biodata on these platforms?

Both platforms have nationality filters. On SearchMaid, open Apex's listing and choose Indonesian or Filipino in Nationality. The number of profiles can change; ask the representing agency for current options, or contact Apex with a general brief if no relevant profile is listed.

Does a listing confirm that a helper is available for transfer?

No. A published profile alone does not confirm current availability, location, release arrangements or a start date. Ask the representing agency which hiring route applies and what remains to be arranged before relying on a timeline.

How do I check if two listings on different platforms are the same candidate?

Compare the biodata details, work dates and the representing agency shown on each profile. If they look similar, contact both representing agencies separately to confirm the candidate's identity and current availability. Do not assume one agency can arrange another agency's candidate.

Who should I contact about a profile listed under another agency?

Contact the representing agency shown on the listing. Each agency manages its own candidates, costs, interview arrangements and work permit applications. Apex can discuss candidates listed under its own SearchMaid agency record; for other agencies' listings, contact them directly.
